The goal of the dengue research program is to conduct research that can improve the diagnosis, treatment and control of dengue infection. Toward this goal, the program plan is to conduct studies on clinical, virological and entomological aspects of dengue infections including surveillance activities.

Among the studies conducted were: 1) Virological and clinical studies in dengue virus infection; 2) Dengue Surveillance in Metro Manila; and 3) Hospital-based retrospective assessment of dengue infection among Filipinos. On-going researches are: 1) Seroprevalence of dengue infection in high-risk and low-risk population and 2) Seroprevalence of dengue infection in Filipino children.
